Thornbury Extension

This project occupies an inner city site with a heritage front to the house and a site full of various spatial constraints. The new two-storey extension contains 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, with open-plan living, dining, and kitchen to the lower floor, opening out to the long rear yard. A central link contains the circulation between the split levels and a powder room and study. The original front of the house retains its period features and has been reworked to contain a spare bedroom as well as the main bedroom with WIR and en suite. The design palate is light and airy with smooth minimal materials contrasting with a long painted brick wall to the boundary.
